The CANCER talk

This past  week Emma over heard Robert and I talking about Elizabeth Edwards and her passing. Emma heard the word cancer, Emma asked what is cancer?  I broke it down for a 5 year old to understand.

Emma said "that's bad, it's good no one in our family has cancer."   Now the hard part to look in to her eyes and tell her. Emma daddy has cancer, her bright blue eyes where sad, Robert had to leave the room. Emma ask where is dadda's cancer? I told her in daddy's lungs and broke it down once again for a 5 year to understand. Emma asked if she could pray to God? I said yes, that the best thing for daddy.

Emma's pray
Dear God, please lay your healing hands on daddy, God you are the biggest doctor, Amen.

Unspeakable gift!!

Today being December 1st, I'm so excited the holidays are here. So ready to celebrate!!!!

I think what a change that is from when I was a kid growing up, my home and family all ways full of drama. Sure Christmas was great we had gifts and food, but always drama and usually a family member missing. When I was on my own Christmas still didn't mean a whole lot other than buying gifts and working long retail hours.

Then along came Robert we had our first Christmas together it was nice a warm felling about it.

Then the kids and Christmas was fun watching there little faces, smile and light up.

Now the last two years Christmas has changed again, its wonderful we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus. That God sent his son for ME, for us. It has over whelmed me the last couple of days and has brought tears of joy!

Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15 KJV
